Hi, I'm Luke

I've lived in Mobile all my life and I love being there for people when they're going through something. I enjoy playing guitar and hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains. I received undergraduate degree in English and Philosophy from the University of South Alabama. I don't think I'll ever have enough books. I believe that all people deserve kindness. I believe that all people should be heard. I believe that everyone has something to teach me. And I try to make everyone laugh.

I understand that life throws things at us that we don't always know how to handle. We learn different tools to help us through different situations. Sometimes those tools aren't enough. Sometimes they're not the right fit. And we need to learn new ways of handling things and use different tools. You may have spent your life sharpening pencils, but you can't change a tire with a pencil sharpener - it's not the right tool for this moment.

This is where I come in. We will collaborate to find the right tools that help you make the changes that you want to make. I will work to understand you and see you in your best light. I want to help you achieve whatever solutions and life changes you are looking for while enjoying the process as much as possible and experiencing yourself in new ways.

My Philosophy

I think that therapy doesn’t need to be a scary experience. It’s true that I will challenge you, but only at your own pace. We will collaborate on goals and strategies together. Oh, and I’m gonna try and make you laugh when it’s helpful. I believe that it’s my job to make sure you feel seen, heard, and understood. I believe that every person is worthy of kindness, that every person has something to offer, and that we can all teach each other something. I think the world is a better place when we see each other’s humanity and when we take care of each other.

Growth

“A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit.”

-Greek Proverb

"“Start now. Start where you are. Start with fear. Start with pain. Start with doubt. Start with hands shaking. Start with voice trembling but start. Start and don’t stop. Start where you are, with what you have. Just… start.” -Pema Chodron
